Cao Jian

CAO Jian is an associate professor of Jewish Studies at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China. He completed his PhD in Biblical Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 2009, working under Irene Eber. He has held post doctoral fellowship at the W. Albright Institute for Archaeological Research in Jerusalem. He has taught Biblical courses at Peking University, Beijing, and the International Chinese Biblical Seminary in Europe, Barcelona. His principle interests of research and teaching include the Hebrew Bible (especially the narrative and theology), Jewish thought (especially messianic themes), and the Bible in China. He has published widely in leading peer reviewed scholarly journals, including The Bible Translator, Monumenta Serica, Asian and African Studies, Chinese Journal of Theology, Sino-Christian Studies.
